I’ve been working in Human Resources for nearly ten years, and I don’t think the tough separation conversations will ever get easier.
I suppose that’s a good thing in the humility and empathy sense. If it ever goes away completely, I guess that means it’s time for a new line of work. But it’s always so heavy… Letting someone know their position is no longer needed, or separating after an issued PIP and seeing no progress. Completely disrupting another humans life. They have their own bills to pay and other life expenses, food to buy and maybe more than one mouth to feed…
I know I’m just rambling on about things I’m sure we’re all aware of and have experienced. I guess I’m just here to say to those of us who carry these burdens and feel so many emotions in our line of work. I see you and you’re not alone. 💛
