I had an employee quit with zero context, just that there were unforeseen circumstances. We had just had their buyout meeting, where we offer newer hires the opportunity to leave with severance if the position doesn't feel like a good fit, and they said they were happy to stay with the organization.
This is the second time someone has quit, effective immediately, no context, from this position 🙃
Have you ever had this happen? What did you do?
Would it be appropriate for me to reach out to them with some brief exit questions, to help me understand if this was truly personal or if there's anything I can do to improve the retention of the role?
